The Human Armrest

This post is more about the photo than the actual story.  The above image is actually a still from a blooper of a birthday video (will post soon) we made for a dear friend in Seattle.  In this particular take, Ben decided to use Sam’s pliable skull and fragile neck muscles to rest his playground-weary limbs.  This is one of the biggest issues with brothers of a 4-year age difference.  The older one just doesn’t comprehend why his mini-me is not potato-sack-race ready at birth.

BEN:  I want Sam to build Legos with me.

DAD:  We can’t do that now.  They can make him choke.

BEN:  I want Sam to go down the slide with me!

DAD:  Not gonna happen, Bubba.

BEN:  Can I take him in the pool?

DAD:  Nope.

So for now he waits.  Patiently.  Holding his younger brother on a boppy like a champ.  And mom and dad can only hope that when Sam IS ready for action, Ben is not too cool for school and off building his first skateboard ramp.
